Instructor: Sifu/Guro/Sensei Deo Guerrero

Sifu/Guro/Sensei Deo Guerrero is the owner and chief instructor of the Bremerton Martial Arts Center. He has been a practitioner of various Martial Arts for over 25 years. Starting as a child in Chi DO Kwan in 1977 due to the influences Bruce Lee and other Martial Arts movies. In 1984 while in the Navy, Deo studied Tang Soo Do for almost 2 years. It wasn't until February 1995, when his ship, the USS Arkansas changed homeport from Alameda, CA to Bremerton, WA that he set his mind on getting a black belt. He started studying Butokukan Karate under Sensei Labalan attaining his Shodan in December 1999, Nidan in 2004, and Sandan in 2009.

While still studying Butokukan Karate, Deo was introduced to Sifu Christopher Clarke, owner and Chief Instructor of NW Kali/JKD in Federal Way, WA by Butokukan Karate Sensei Steve Sultemeir. This was in May 1998 when Deo was still a Brown Belt. Sifu Clarke taught Kali, Jun Fan Gung Fu, Jeet Kune Do, and Maphilindo Silat under Si Gung Dan Inosanto, Muay Thai under Ajarn Chai Sirusite (World Thai Boxing Association), and Combat Submission Wrestling and STX Kickboxing under Sensei Eric Paulson.

Deo really liked the Arts taught at NW Kali/JKD and from May 1998 to December 2001 started traveling and training under Sifu Clarke. After an 8 year hiatus from 2002 to 2009, Deo started training again under Sifu Clarke in 2010 and still does today with other Sifu Clarke instructors and a select few senior students when Sifu Clarke drives up from Portland once or twice a month. Deo also regularly attends Si Gung Dan Inonsanto seminars once a year since 2011 and twice in 2016.

Sifu Clarke turned the Federal Way School over to one of his senior instructors in 2013 and closed down in 2014. Sifu Clarke gave Deo permission to start a group in Bremerton in 2014 and was initially called NW Kali Group Bremerton. On May 1, 2015, the name changed to Bremerton Martial Arts Center. On February 18, 2017, Deo received his Level 1 Instructor Certification in Filipino Martial Arts, Jun Fan Gung Fu/Jeet Kune Do, and Maphilindo Silat signed by his instructor Guro/Sifu Christopoher Clarke and his instructor Tuhon/Si Gung Daniel Inosanto in October 2016.
